Bråtadal STF Vandrarhem
This hostel is the perfect place to experience nature up close thanks to its view over Björkasjö and location right by the beach. Bråtadal has lots of old-fashioned charm and is a very pleasant place to stay.
About the hostel
Bråtadal Vandrarhem och Konferensanläggning is located in a relaxing and inspiring area where the beech forests of Åkulla meet Ätradalen, approximately 10 km from Ullared. Life here is simple and natural. You can enjoy the silence, the smells of the forest and home-baked bread.
Despite the tranquil setting, it’s not hard to imagine the fact that hundreds of children have spent their summers here at camp. Just as they did, you can take a dip in Björkasjö, look for toads in the forest and eat home-made jam sandwiches on the veranda. No matter what you do, it’s guaranteed to be a relaxing stay.
The hostel has 15 dorms with a total of 47 beds. The dorms are typical of the 30s and 40s with wallpaper and furnishings from that period. The beds are either spring-mattress beds or bunk beds. There are showers and toilets outside the dorms, and there is a big kitchen equipped with everything you might need to prepare your own meal. During peak season, the kitchen serves a breakfast buffet consisting of locally grown, organic ingredients.
The child-friendly swim spot is located only a few hundred metres from the hostel, and you can also rent a rowboat there. The magnificent nature in the local area is perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking or fishing.
